Smell Gas?

Safety Checks

Gas systems should be checked every year. Without checks, there is an increased risk of gas leak, carbon monoxide poisoning, or even explosion.

Whether you are a home owner, landlord, or tenant, you should have a Gas Safety Certificate issued by Gas Safe registered engineer. These show that your appliance or system has been correctly installed and is operating safely. Custance & Son can assess the safety of your system and appliances, issue certificates, and advise on any steps you should take to ensure your safety.

Landlords have a legal responsibility to ensure these gas checks happen every year. They must also keep careful records of the gas safety certificates, as evidence that they are taking all safety precautions for their properties and their tenants.

Custance & Son work with a number of landlords and are happy to help advise on keeping you and your tenants safe.

Gas Safe Register

The CORGI gas registration scheme was replaced in 2009 with the Gas Safe Register, the new official gas registration body for Great Britain and the Isle of Man.

Custance & Son rigorously apply the Gas Safe standard, as we were early leaders in Gas Safety. You can see to this day that our registration number is only 374, showing we were one of the first to work to these standards.
